The NY Times, as usual, attempts to fool you.

ts in Housing Aid: The sub-headline reads"Rent Voucher Freeze Affected Poor Tenants". By using deceitful headlines the Times sends a negative message about our government to those who only read headlines.

When reading the article you will see that there was no freeze. How do they get away with these deceptions is beyond me. In my opinion if there was such a thing as malpractice for newspapers, the Times would qualify.

If you read the article, if it is referring to the Section 8 program, you will find out that the Section 8 budget has balooned 27% in the last 3 years, but in the current fiscal year, the budget will consist of fiscal 2003's allocation plus an inflation adjustment.

If the articles is referring to any other housing subsidies it is not clear;and, if they are they are trying to convince you in the headline that Section 8 housing subsidies for the poor were being cut before the reinstatement. Got it?
